After a rear end collision caused by traffic going down on a hill, I was issued a citation for careless driving. The sheriff spelled my last name incorrectly as in completely wrong when I pointed out to him he said to call and the county clerk would call him to verify and then it would be removed. This occurred in St Johns county Florida. What are my options?
In addition to the other comments, the first thing to determine is how all of this would affect you on your license. The comments previously made are all correct if you have a FL license. But I don’t believe you mentioned that you have a FL license. So if you have a license from another state, then you will need to look at other options. Traffic School or a withhold will not likely help you if you are licensed outside of FL. Regardless, it would definitely be in your best interest to hire an attorney to help you.
