Hi, I just wanted to know what would happen to me. I got a speeding ticket in New Hampshire but I had to move back to my mom’s in Florida. I filled out all the papers to have my stuff transferred to my house in fl. But I never got anything from the courts until 2 weeks after I had missed my court date saying that my court date was on this day and this time. But I was already in Florida by that time and I haven’t gotten anything since. My court date was back in December. I just haven’t gotten anything else in the mail since then.

The first question is which state do you have your license, and which state did you have your license at the time you were ticketed? The next question is what speed were they charging you with? The third question is which county, and which court in specific?
In NH, there is a head Trooper that prosecutes the cases. If you have a FL license, then if convicted, the conviction would be sent from the court to the NH Dept of Driver safety which would then assess a universal ACD code, dependent on what your speed is. They would then transfer that to the FL DMV, which would use that code to determine what the charge would be in FL, and assess points based on that.
If you missed your court date, you need to find out if you were convicted in your absence. If not, then you probably have a failure to appear. This means your case is still open. If it is still open, there is a possibility to negotiate a resolution to resolve it in a way that may not affect your license in FL. If there is already a conviction, then there is a possibility you may be able to reopen the case, but it is much more difficult to do that.
