I received a speeding ticket on I-40 in Catawba county I believe and it was never paid. I forgot all about it until I tried getting car insurance in FL about 10 years ago and it popped up. I used my NY address to obtain insurance and forgot about the ticket again. I would like to get this issue resolved. How do I go about it?
Yep that’ll do it. If you forget to pay a ticket in NC the DMV is notified and then your license will be revoked AND the revocation is reported to your home state. To fix it, you’ll need to get the case back on the calendar or, if you can, just pay it via mail or whatever. The thing is, for many cases, you either can’t pay the ticket by mail (have to go to court) or if you DO there will be consequences that you don’t want (like if you pay a high speed your insurance will get jacked up or you will be revoked because the speed is so high). Might not cost much to hire one and it would probably be cheaper than trying to do it on your own.
