I really think I was going only 83 but cop put 85. Does that even make a difference?

In Georgia, it can make a big difference if you were going 85 mph on a road that is greater than two-lanes as that is considered a super speeder, and, in addition to fines you may incur on the citation itself, you also have to pay the Department of Driver Services an additional $200 or risk getting your license itself revoked. If you were on a two-lane road, then it is a super speeder citation at 75 mph. Additionally, depending upon the speed limit, the increase in mph above the speed limit could also result in a greater number of points on your license.
