Hello. Your website states: “One way to handle a traffic citation is to have it reduced. If you are charged speeding 15-20 mph over the speed limit, you can seek a reduction to nine (9) mph over. ” How do you go about getting your speeding ticket reduced to 9 mph over?
Assuming this happened in NC…. All you have to do is go to court on your designated court date and talk to the DA in the court room.
He will call the calendar in the morning and you just answer with your name and say you want to speak with him.
The reduction is given very typically and without begging and pleading as long as you weren’t going too fast.
Also, you might be able to get a reduction to “Improper Equipment” which is even better than the 9 over
(since it’s not even a moving violation).
Don’t waste a PJC on this if you can help it, BTW; you might need it for another ticket!
