I was on cruise control in a 70 MPH and did not notice that the speed changed to 55 MPH. Officer 1/4 of mile inside the 55 MPH used a radar to clock my speed at 75.
Dear Anon: This is like the fourth forum q I’ve answered on this topic today! Lots of tickets like this out there for sure. My advice is don’t sweat it. Get a lawyer if you want, but if you have time ti handle it yourself, I’m sure you can get it done. First, try for an IE (improper equipment). It’s not considered a moving violation and carries no points of any kind. JUst ask the DA when you go in. Next best thing, if your record is clean for three years before this, ask for a 9 over the limit (64/55). That’ll give you a couple DMV points but no license points. Last is the “PJC” (which you would ask the judge for). That wipes out all the DMV AND Insurance points for this offense. The thing is you can only use one if neither you nor anyone in your household has not use done in the past three years. I’d try for the other options first since you might need your PJC if you get another ticket in the next three years!
