I got pulled over in Howard county the officer claimed i was going 85 in a 55 on RT 29, he gave me a $290 even though this was my first speeding ticket, I have court soon, and with this being my first speeding ticket im nervous becasue i have never went to court, also i miss the date to pay the fine or request trial so i ended up having to request a recall the judge denied until i pay the ticket fee which was $290 that was when i received a court date now im nervous if i plea guilty with explanation what would most likely happen also if he dont show up will i have money put back into my account which is $290.
I would be more than happy to assist you. I am hoping the court set the matter in for a trial versus a waiver hearing. Are you licensed in MD or another state? A conviction for speeding in MD will be reported to your home state under the reciprocity agreement, so it is important to avoid a conviction or have the speed reduced.
