Just wondering if I really need a lawyer. I have gotten alot of letters.
Dear Anon: Depends really. The speed doesn’t seem too terribly fast to me (so to my thinking it doesn’t look like it needs the “special skill” that a lawyer can bring to the table). If you don’t mind going to court yourself, give it a shot. See if the DA will give you “improper equipment” which is not even a moving violation. Next best thing would be to get the speed reduced to 9 over (64/55) if your record is clean for the past 3 years. Last, you can ask for a PJC (prayer for judgment continued) from the judge if neither you nor a household member has used a PJC in the past 3 years. My advice on that is to save it though since you may need it if you get another ticket in the near future (since you can only use one per three years to avoid insurance points). As for the letters, you can certainly call those guys and see what they can do for you. You can also post your case on this site (BernieSez.com). We have some participating attorneys in Randolph co too. Good luck!
