I’m in Colorado and recently had an accident. I thought my court was set for a later day. I had a deffective vehicle ticket within the last three years. I’m planning to go to the county court first thing in the morning.
What is the best way to approach and would it be wise to ask for a reduction?
Thanks for your question. Best I can say is that the first problem is the missed court date. No matter what state your in that can mean at the least license revocation and maybe even arrest. Not sure how it goes in CO. Maybe call the court and see what you can do to have it re-calendared. You can certainly post your case on BernieSez and have CO lawyers get in touch with you and let you know for sure. As for the accident, my experience is that you can do a lot if you can show the DA that all the damages were paid. Just bring a letter to the DA from your insurance company (they should give you that if you ask) and show him that all is well. In many cases that’s enough to have the case tossed.
