Long story short, I had a change of address earlier this year and totally didn’t realize my EZ Pass had been revoked. During a trip to the city this summer I used EZ lanes several times, and now it looks like I’m being charged with “obstructing administration of law” or theft or something like that and I’m trying to figure out I how I can deal with this with the least amount of criminal penalty. I know I’ll probably have some additional fees to deal with, but I’ve been working really hard this year and it would honestly suck to have to pay some huge amount just because of a little sight. Any professional suggestions would be MUCH appreciated.
A criminal charge normally requires a Court appearance. Depending upon the amount of the toll, the exact criminal charge and the Court it is in, an appearance can be made via affidavit if you live far enough away. Call me and I can explain. We handle these matters all the time in NJ.
