Got busted yesterday for going 95 in a 75 zone annnd apparently that’s extra bad and I really don’t want a felony charge. Haven’t hired a lawyer or anything yet but I want to know how easy is it to get it reduced to a lesser speeding charge? if it helps, I was driving a new car and I didn’t even realize it felt like that to go that fast.

Your chances of reducing get really low for anything higher than 85 in Fairfax. Above 90, the general guideline is they sentence a day in jail for every MPH above 90. You will also get your license suspended for a period of time and a fine. Reduction is not even close to on the table. Also, are you sure it is in Fairfax? I don’t know anywhere in Fairfax that has a 70 mph limit.
