Considering legal defense on this one as this would be my third traffic infraction this year, but I want to know if I have a good shot before I invest in a lawyer. It’s not that I didn’t stop at ALL before turning at a stop sign…the officer who gave me this ticket said I drove a ways past the line on the road before coming what was almost a complete stop, said he wouldn’t have issued it if I hadn’t looked so negligent. I honestly thought the paint in that line was pretty faded and wasn’t super noticeable anyway. Does anyone think this ticket is worth arguing? I’d rather keep this couple hundred in my bank account. Thanks.
All NYC tickets go to trial. You need to study the elements of the violation to know how to cross examine the cop to get the case dismissed. Or, you can hire us. We do traffic ticket defense as a specialty and also have literally hundreds of positive online reviews which you can see here.
You can try to beat it by taking pictures of the faded line. Otherwise you can hire an attorney to try to beat it on a legal technicality. If you hire an attorney you would not have to appear in court.
