Hello I have a question if i have a misdemeanor charge for driving on a suspended license, i have 3 failures to appear on this ticket. The last one was issued on 2/16/2017. I have a bench warrant out. If i show up to court tomorrow and ask for an extension for this issue will they hold me and send me to jail?
Not sure exactly how to answer since you didn’t say where this happened, but I can say that yes, if there is an OFA out for you, any contact with law enforcement might result in your arrest. Here in Raleigh NC where I practice, I have see folks come in to handle a small traffic case and when the DA pulls up their record to see if they have priors etc, they see an OFA and then tell the judge about. It’s a shitty thing to do but I’ve seen it done! Can you say where this happened and mybe I can give you better advice? What state and county?
