Hey Anon! I practice law here in Raleigh and can tell you that there is not very much possibility of getting a speeding charge dismissed completely (makes too much $$ for the court!). Try for an “IE” (improper equipment). That’s not even a moving violation and carries no points of any kind. Barring that, most folks are happy to get a reduction to 9 over the limit (and not more than 74 mph total) which, if this is the only conviction on your record for the last 3 years, will not cause your insurance to escalate. You COULD use a PJC (limited to one per three year period per household) but IMHO it’s better to save that for a rainy day (like when you run a red light or something).
