My daughter is in Colorado. She is victim of CV. We have been trying to get her home but there have been many roadblocks. Her license was suspended so we pd ticket and reinstatement fees. She had to take test over pd that then when she went back to DMV discovered another block on her license. She went to courthouse to pay $30 to clear license and was arrested for failure to appear. She pd the ticket the day before her court date so I think that she didn’t think she still had to go since the ticket was pd. We bailed her out but court date isn’t for 2 weeks. She was going to try to stick it out until her court date but the police were at her house again today for everything and she left with her kids. She has nowhere to go. What will happen if she leaves state? Any advice on what she should do?
IMHO running away from everything will just make it worse. At the very least if she tries to get a license in her “new” state there may be a problem since there is revocation in another state (and states report that stuff to one another). If she runs away, the bailbondsman might be looking for her too. Furthermore, in most states, it is some kind of criminal offense to willfully not go to court. I’d say don’t skip out. At least call the court or your bail bondsman and tell them the situation. Maybe it’s easy to get the case back on the calendar. Not sure why the cops should be looking for her if she’s paid everything etc. Sometimes it really is the court’s mistake….
