I received a subpoena to go to court to do a dna test for childsupport its been longer than 20 days will i get arrested? Im in Louisiana
Not sure exactly how it goes in LA but -generally- a subpoena is an ORDER from the court or a litigant compelling your attendance. If you don’t show after you have been properly served you might be subject to arrest or held in contempt. My advice is to look at the subpoena, find the issuing party and contact them to see if it can be reset. If you want to fight it, I’d say you better find a lawyer to make an argument that the subpoena should be quashed.
